Pros and cons of French Essentials app for iPhone and iPad
French Essentials app good for
I find that the Audio is Not as loud as it should be! I cant hear all the pronounciation of All of the french words, when the french woman pronounces them. I mean sometimes, I can hear all of the word, but the rest of the time I can only hear part/parts of a word. The male voice is very loud and Clear! The volume on my iPod Touch is Not as loud as Id like! If you can fix this, I will buy some of your language courses. When you do Ill give you 5 stars. I Really like the way you teach it.
Its good if youre purely a beginner. If you have any knowlegde of French this app will be too easy. It really drills you for repitition.

This is a great app. It would be nice if there were more words, it appears to have 156 built in, but as a new ipad user it gave me the confience to try before I buy their paid version.
I love this app i am learning more french and their isint even school until september i am addictided and i used to hate french class! But i only wish for harder words and more words
Some bad moments
Well its good but its not bad. if they would tell you how to sound out the word(in french) it be alot better cuz you have to hear it a number of times just to hear it and I knew a little bit of french and hearing that chick talk isnt the clearest so an update would be nice cuz its pretty jard to hear sometimes but its an okay way to learn French just not the best.
If you have even a rudimentary knowledge of French it will be of no value to you.
I just like to be engaged more by the app. I really liked FunDo French Numbers better. The girls voice was better than this app, and I was able to play a game, which helped me forget that I was learning.
Since Ill be taking French 1 this year, I figured Id download this app. Wow! Its great! Simply brilliant!:) I recommend this to anybody wantingto learn a new language. Buying is definately worth it.

After vacationing in CanadaI became fascinated with the French language. I downloaded this app. Ive been trying to figure out how to use it all night. There are no instructions. It is useless.
After reading some of the reviews, I said, "Hey, Why not?" I need to learn some French for my classes, and this helped me brush up on it. One negative thing came out of it though- in quizzes mode, there should be sentances, for even more complicated learning. That Is what French is about, no? Not just learning words, but sentances, paragraphs, assignments! Please add sentances to the great app! :)
